Hello, fellow voyagers🖖! In today’s edition I invite you to read a new sci-fi book with me and reflect on the future together.
It’s March already, and spring is at the door in the northern hemisphere. The days are getting longer, sunnier, and nature is slowly coming back to life. Spring brings us the joy of new beginnings and a wind of hope with the fragrance of the first tender flowers peeking their colorful heads from the freshly thawed dry grass.
This month, I invite you to join me reading The Future by Naomi Alderman, a tech-thriller that explores climate change, AI, and the survival of the rich versus the poor. Let’s dive into its worldbuilding, vision of the future, and how it ties to what’s happening in the world right now.
Future thinking through fiction
This isn’t just a book club—it’s an invitation to think critically about the future through fiction. From NASA to big companies and governments, there’s a growing interest in how sci-fi writers can prototype the future. Stories have the power to spark our collective imagination and helps us make sense of the world and futures ahead.
At Story Voyager, my goal is to inspire action through fiction. I’m currently serializing my mosaic novel There Is Hope about life on a planet devastated by climate change and the things that give people hope. Your support has been instrumental on this journey and I am beyond grateful to have you here.

Thanks for the recommend! I just put a hold on The Future at the local library. Hopefully I can get through it in time enough to join the conversation!
Love seeing other authors building out the cli-fi genre! Was looking through your season descriptions on the linked page, and season two reminded me a lot (at a high level) of the movie Vesper, which I just watched a bit ago and thought was a very interesting premise and follow through. If you haven't seen it already I'd definitely give it some consideration next time you're scrolling around with nothing to watch.
