Can't wait to read the next posts as they come out! And by the way, i really appreciate your recommended readings, I am in the middle of "The Overstory" (audible) and what brilliant writing from Richard Powers and the skein off stories woven around the nexus of nature. Glad you have your finger on the pulse of the climate!
I haven't read 'The Overstay' yet. I'm reading 'Termination Shock' now and already finished 'Land of milk and honey' and 'The left hand of darkness'. They were both good. I loved 'The left hand of darkness'. It's not cli-fi per se but what a great book! It takes place during the Ice Age and having read so much about how ice age people lived it was a fantastic read for me.
I’ve been away from Substack for a bit but am dipping back in as a reader and made sure you were my first stop! Really looking forward to the new essays, Claudia 💚
Oh no! I never received them 😫 I think I need to set up an actual reply-to address? (Now firmly on my to-do list!) Would you be able to forward the emails you tried to send? I’m so sorry if it felt like I was ignoring them! I definitely would’ve replied had they come through! If so, you can just send them to authorgarrettfrancis[at]gmail.
I’ll be on here with more regularity in the coming months, reading and sharing and whatnot!
Thanks for sharing your address, I'll write you there. Don't worry about me feeling ignored, I knew that something didn't go through. Plus, I#m really bad at answering people myself. I wouldn't take offence. 😅
Happy to read that you're coming back slowly. It's a good community.
He has a course on climate change starting soon, maybe you and some of your subscribers would be interested in checking it out? If you wish. There is a shared interest there. Best.
Thanks, Nathan! I didn't have a chance to reopen the discussion with my friends. But should the occasion arise... Well, next time I at least will know what I'm talking about.
The next two episodes will be very interesting. I'm especially looking forward to no. 4, the human-nature relationship, which is right now my main topic after the climate fiction. I want to understand what we thought about and how we related to nature in our history on this planet. I think it holds a key to the future.

Claudia, what a great topic for a Substack!
Thanks so much, Tomas, really appreciate it. I'm hoping to finish this series soon because the learnings are fascinating.
Love it! And the selection of the imagery is very much futuristic. The resemblance with the cinematography of latest Dune movies is apparent.
It wasn’t my intention but I’ll take that as a compliment since I love the Dune films. Huge fan!
It is the biggest compliment ever since I am a massive fan myself!
😯 We read Dune together here on Story Voyager ahead of the second film. A pity we didn’t connect earlier, you could’ve joined…
Joining anything related to Dune sounds very thrilling to my sci-fi ears!

Hi Garrett, so happy to read from you here. I tried sending you two emails, not sure if you got them. I'm missing you here on Substack! COME BACK!!!

Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know this Substack and I just subscribed. A very solid course with stellar guests.
Looking forward to episode 3, Claudia! Btw, do you know "The World Without Us"?

Haven't read this book yet, thanks a lot for the recommendation! It's on my list for this year and I'm really excited about it. When did you read it?
Haven't read it yet, came recommended from a friend.
Maybe you'll also get to it this year, like me.
Good to see this roadmap, Claudia. Looking forward to those future posts and what they explore.
Also, I hope you managed to convince your friends in the end!

Definitely. So so important.
Yesterday we went to this exhibit: https://www.acmi.net.au/whats-on/marshmallow-laser-feast-works-of-nature/
It was very much along those lines and super impressive and spiritual.
Wow, what an amazing exhibition. Just reading about it gives me goosebumps.
