I read the book a couple of years ago, great book. I love the idea of a carbon coin! I’d invest in that. Maybe it would give Bitcoin a run for its money. šŸ’°

Though I would love to see countries being paid to protect their ecosystems, for a capitalist society, the idea of a carbon coin is probably even more extreme than the book’s climate terrorism.

While I couldn't read the book with you, I found the ideas you summarised here fascinating!

I also thought about cryptocurrency when the carbon coin was mentioned--not that I'm an expert but a combination of the two might be ground-breaking, a new incentive for being more climate conscious, funded & regulated by a decentralised community-driven network... Might work better than nations struggling to implement the necessary policies.

Lots of people are fascinated by the carbon coin. Blockchain would help track the coin to actual CO2 certificates and protect against fraud, a huge issue in the finance world. There are types of blockchain that are quite economical in terms of energy consumption.

I really enjoyed your insights on The Ministry for the Future, especially the way you connected the book’s climate solutions with your own work.

We still have a long way to go, but works like those are helping inspire and motivate more people to do more.
